PSN Top Gun Rankings - Q2 2024

August 30, 2024

Each quarter, Zephyr releases its “PSN Top Guns” ranking, an important reference for plan sponsors, investors, and asset managers, showcasing the best performing separate accounts, managed accounts, and managed ETF strategies. While Curran Wealth Management received awards in 6 different categories for the awards quarter ending 6/30/2024, we want to highlight 3 awards in particular.

Large Core Equity Universe

The Large Core Equity Universe is made up of stocks of large-cap companies where neither growth nor value characteristics predominate. Stocks in the top 70% of the capitalization of the U.S. equity market are defined as large cap.

Large Core Equity - 4 Quarters (1 Year) Ending 6/30/2024 – Curran’s Core Growth Equity portfolio ranked 3rd in a universe of 250 products from 145 firms with a rate of return (RoR) of 36.0%*. The S&P 500 Index (the index to which this category is benchmarked and measured against) returned 24.6% for the same period.

Small Midcap Universe

The Small Midcap Universe is made up of companies with market capitalizations between $350 million and $10 billion. These strategies seek to outperform the Russell 2500 Index by taking advantage of the diverse opportunities provided by companies of this size.

Small-Mid Growth - 12 Quarters (3 Years) Ending 6/30/2024 – Curran’s SMID Cap Equity portfolio ranked 6th in a universe of 74 products from 55 firms with a rate of return of 3.6%*. The Russell 2500 Growth Index (the index to which this category is benchmarked and measured against) returned -4.1% for the same period.

Bull & Bear Masters

To qualify for the PSN Top Guns Bull & Bears Masters rankings, submitted portfolios must have an Upside Market Capture ratio of 100 or more for the latest three-year period, and Downside Market Capture ratio of 100 or less for the latest three-year period. Portfolios must also have an r-squared** of 0.80 or greater relative to the style benchmark for the recent three-year period. The top ten Ratios between Upside Market Capture Ratio and Downside Capture Ratio become the PSN Bull & Bear Masters.

Small-Mid Growth - 12 Quarters (3 Years) Ending 6/30/2024 - Curran’s SMID Cap Equity portfolio ranked 6th in a universe of 74 products from 55 firms with a ratio of 3.6%. The Russell 2500 Growth Index (the index to which this category is benchmarked and measured against) had a ratio of -4.1% for the same period.

*The RoR figures for Curran’s portfolios are calculated net of fees.

**R-squared is not a measure of the performance of a portfolio. Rather, it measures the correlation of the portfolio's returns to the benchmark's returns. A portfolio with a high r-squared performs in line with its benchmark.

4 STAR CATEGORY: PSN Top Guns investment managers must claim that they are GIPs compliant. Products must illustrate an appropriate correlation relative to the style benchmark for the recent five-year period.
